Hi, I'm Christine.
I am a Naturopath and qualified in Clinical Nutritional medicine and Clinical Herbal medicine. I love to talk and educate on this topic.
I am extremely passionate about children’s health and wellbeing as I feel that there is a lot to explore and unpack when we look at a child’s health and presentation. I find that there is often a lot going on “in the background” when we are considering why a child might be presenting a certain way or diagnosed with a disorder, disease or syndrome.
I often ask parents "has anyone every spoken to you about nutrition and supporting the body with food?" In other words, giving the body what it needs for it to do it's job! Most of the time they reply "no".
It's time to make sure that this GENERATION is getting the NOURISHMENT it needs to be happy, content and thrive.
I'm really big on education and making sure that parents have the knowledge to support their child with food. I can tell you "what" to do, but you need to understand "WHY". Once you have this knowledge, you will be able to use it for the rest of yours and your child's life.
Many of my adult clients come to me because they prefer to consider the underlying cause of their health concerns rather than medicating the symptoms. Many more come to me because they know that something is going on, but they feel like no one is listening to them. I often say that it is my job to be the good detective and backtrack through a persons history to understand the bigger picture of their health and where things went wrong. It is then my job to explain this to my clients so they can then understand their own bodies. This is why initial consultations are so long, because we need the time to respect all that has happened in life as it is all connected.
“As a mother, I understand that all we want for our children is for them to be healthy and happy.
Kids should have the opportunity to play with lots of energy, laugh without worry or anxiety, enjoy good food without the tummy troubles, focus and concentrate when needed and thrive as they grow.
Their health is important for today, tomorrow and to prepare them for their adult lives.”
BIO
Christine is a qualified Naturopath, a member of the Complementary Medicine Association and specialises in Pediatric Heath and Gut Health. PANS and PANDAS (Paediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococcus) is a particular focus of hers. Having both personal and professional experience in this area, she approaches her clients with empathy and understanding which allows for trust and support to be established. As PANS/PANDAS is an area which many practitioners do not understand or know about, Christine offers her clients hope and a road for recovery.
After the birth of her second child, Christine continued tertiary education, completing an Advanced Diploma of Naturopathy. She did this as she saw that there was a gap in the healthcare system, where underlying root causes were not routinely explored and quite often, nutritional deficiencies, food intolerances, inflammatory conditions and gut health (just to name a few) where overlooked. Today, Christine helps her clients explore what could be causing or contributing to their health and behaviour and works towards fixing the root cause of the problem.
Being incredibly passionate about Natural Medicine and motivated by the improvement she sees in her clients, Christine continues her education as a healthcare practitioner and regularly attends conferences, seminars and workshops so she can stay up to date with the latest developments in her specialised areas. She also regularly consults with an integrative doctor.
Christine practices out of her clinic, Wings for Wellness Naturopathy ,and also has an educational platform, A Nourished Generation, where she offers courses, training and online resources to help parents gain lifelong knowledge into their children's health.
